The problems of blood collection have become so great that no single operation can possibly supply the demand, Dr. Julius W. Davenport, president of the American Association of Blood Banks, said here Saturday afternoon.
That's why every blood collecting agency is vitally needed, he said.
Dr. Davenport, who is director of intravenous therapy, Baptist hospital in New Orleans, was a speaker in the two-day joint meeting of the Louisiana division of the American Cancer Society and the South Central region College of American Pathologists, Louisiana Association of Pathologists. The groups met Friday and Saturday .in the Roosevelt hotel.
