Two roving panels of doctors will conduct cancer seminars in six Louisiana cities, March 14, 15, and 16, Dr. John Snelling, chairman of the cancer committee of the Louisiana State Medical Society, said today.
They will be sponsored jointly by Dr. Snelling's committee, the medical schools of Tulane and Louisiana State Universities, and the state division of the American Cancer Society.
This is the schedule of seminars; March 14—Shreveport Charity Hospital, Baton Rouge's Gur Lady of the Lake Nurses' auditorium; March 15—Monroe's St Francis Hospital, Lafayette Charity Tuberculosis Hospital; March 16—Alexandria's St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, and Lake Charles's St Patrick's Hospital.
The two teams of doctors will be: from LSU—Drs. W. J. Burdette, H. J. Tatum, I. W. Kaplan, J. H. McCormick, C. P. Oderr, and C. J. Lund; from Tulane—Drs. J. W.. Overstreet, Jr., P. J. Murison, W. H. Clark, Jr., and J. S. Hunt.
Dr. Snelling said these seminars will make it possible for the busy doctor who is not located near a medical center to keep abreast of progress in cancer diagnosis and treatment without facing the difficulty of leaving their practices to take prolonged refresher courses.
