The second annual Urban Maes lecture will be delivered by Dr. Lester R. Dragstedt, chairman of the department of surgery of the University of Chicago, at 8 p. m, Friday in Charity hospital auditorium,
The lectures are sponsored by the Lambda Sigma chapter of the Phi Chi medical fraternity at the Louisiana State university school of medicine.
The lecture title this year is "Duodenal Ulcer: A Problem in Abnormal Gastric Physiology." Membeps of the medical profession and others interested are invited to attend.
Dr. Dragstedt is internationally known for his studies of the function of'the stomach and of the gastrointestinal'tract. He is especially known for the reintro-duction and popularization of vagotomy — severance of nerves supplying the stomach—in the treatment of peptic ulcer. PHOTO CAPTION READS: DR.
