| Facilitator Log | 00:57 Anna's father would trap in the winter. They spent the winter on the houseboat. They spent the summer around the beach. They always had fresh seafood around and her father would share his catch with the neighborhood. 4:16 Anna was not allowed to speak French at school. Anna loved to play on rollerskates. She remembers going to the movies every Sunday as a teenager. 9:10 She remembers that they would put a chicken in a cage for fattening up when a woman was about to have a baby, so her first meal, post birth, was chicken soup. Her sisters were once given money to buy a chicken, but they spent it and had to chase and steal a scrawny chicken. 13:20 Anna remembers for Mardi Gras people would come around to the houses trying to scare the kids. 35:30 'I don't care what you do, just don't lie about it.' Elise feels whole because she has had so many generations around her. She appreciates her culture having left for college and returned. She appreciates hearing Anna's stories first hand. |
