| Title | Brushstrokes on silk : the orientalism of Pound, Williams, Lowell, and Moore |
| Author | Henderson, Lynett L. |
| Keywords | University of New Orleans. Honors thesis. 1993.; University of New Orleans. Dept. of English. |
| Abstract/Introduction | The advent of Imagism was one of the most important literary events of the twentieth dentury, mainly because it allowed its practitioners the freedom to expand and experiment while remaining within the confines of an almost mathematically precise discipline. This was especially true of the Orientalists, as typified by Ezra Pound, William Carlos Williams, Amy Lowell, and Marianne Moore, who applied many of the techniques of Oriental literature to poetry and versification. |
