The follo'wing infonnation reganiing the organization of affiliated
units is 1:ublished for your lnforurationr
1. Unit personnel other than officers!
fu Nurses; rlecent instructions provide that the nurses for affil-iated
units will be procured and a.ssigned by Corps Area Corrmanders during
rnobllization rather than by the -w-ar Deparbment. It is therefore desired that
the selection of nurses reconmended. for enrolliiient in the funerican iled Cross
Nursing Service for service in the Army in emergency with an affiliated unit
be lirulted to those rrvtro reside vrithin the Corps Area in r,^;hich the institution
is 1ocatecl. If practicable, choice should be limitei to those wiro reside in
the general localit)' of the institution.
For your inforrnation, the states conprising the several Corps
Areas are listed below:
lst Corps Area: Connecticut, l;iaine, l{assachusetts, lrlew liarnps}rire,
Rhode Island and Ver.-mont.
2nd Corps Area: Delavlare, Nerrr Jersey and I'lew York.
