a. Administrative
(1) The salient events in the unit's history for the month ·or
July 1945 were, first, an extensive turn-over in personnel, both commissioned
and enlisted, and second, the presentation of awards to a member or the
organization, as well as a citation to the unit as a whole.

Colonel Robert A. Kimbrough, Jr., M~, having relinquished
neighboring 8lst Station Hospital, assu.~ed command of this
0001 hours, 13 July 1945, replacing Colonel Thomas H. Reagan, '~

1:C, transferred to the 26th General Hosnital. Capt Kenneth G. llovmrd, ii::P.C,
was also assigned from the 8ist Station Hospital and took over his new duties ~\t
........
on the 13th of the month. On the following da:y:, Lt Col Floyd L. McCollum, IiC,
Executive Officer, departed from this station to take charge of his ncmly
assigned command, the 103rd Station Hospital. Colonel Charles J. Miangolarra,
WC, Chief of Surgical Service, was assigned additional duty as Executive Off-icer.
On the 15th of :the month, ths organization observed the
third anniversary of its activation at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Ylith
appropriate festivities. Parties were held by both the officers and enlisted
men - parties "Nhich combined the features of a farewell to the mny members
being transferred from the unit, of a welcome for their replacements, and of an
anniversary for the hospital as a unit.
