Johnson, Brooks Named to Medical Center Posts
Dr. James Woodard Johnson
yesterday was named director
of medical education at Con-federate
Memorial Medical Cen-ter.
Dr. Gary Brooks was
named clinical director.
The appointments were an-nounced
by Dr. Rodric M. Yea-ger,
director til the center.
Dr. James Woodard Johnson
was appointed director of medi-cal
education and Dr. Gary
Brooks was appointed clinical
director.
Dr. Johnson received a bache-lor
of science degree from
Tulane University and an M.D.
degree from Tulane University
School of Medicine.
He served an internship at
Charity Hospital in New Or-leans.
He also completed his
residency in internal medicine
there.
He received a fellowship in
nephrology at Peter Bent Brig-ham
Hospital and an assistant-ship
at the Harvard Medical
School.
Dr. James W. Johnson Dr. Gary Brooks
Dr. Johnson was an assistant
professor of medicine at Tulane
before coming to Shreveport as
assistant professor of medicine
and chief of the nephrology
section at the Louisiana State
University School of Medicine.
Dr. Brooks is a graduate of
Louisiana Polytechnic Universi-ty
and received his M.D. degree
at the LSU School of Medicine
in New Orleans. His internship
and residency training in obste-trics
- gynecology were served
at CMMC.
He served two years of active
duty in the Air Force and is a
member of the faculty of the
LSU School of Medicine here.
He serves as an instructor in
the department of obstetrics -
gynecology.
Dr. J o h n s o n will be the
coordinator of intern and resi-dency
programs, coordinator of
in - service educational pro-grams
and will be involved in
recruitment of house officers.
Dr. Brooks will be in charge
of administration of medical
programs and coordinator of the
ambulatory medicine programs
in the out-patient department.
His position will be part-time.
