Community Council, Lions Club— 11-8-71
Groups to Honor Dr. Hull
Dr. Edgar Hull
Dr. Martin Woodin, execu-tive
vice president of the LSU
system, will represent the
school at the meeting.
DR. EGLIN McKEITHEN
of the Hodge Medical Center,
brother of Gov. McKeithen,
will present the governor and
the Medical Association of
Louisiana, the Lions meeting.
Featured speaker at the
community council luncheon
will be Dr. W i l l i am H.
S t e w a r t , chancellor of the
LSU Medical Center and for-mer
Surgeon General of the
United States. Dr. Stewart
will discuss "Education for
the H e a l t h Professions in
Louisiana."
O F F I C E R S AND board
members will also be elected
and installed. Retiring officers
are Judge Taylor; Harvey
Wilkening, first vice presi-dent;
Mrs. Robert E. King,
second vice president Mrs.
Frank D. Green Jr., secre-tary,
and Mrs. Irma Green
Jackson, treasurer.
Retiring board m e m b e r s
are Thomas C. Archie, Roy
Beard, Myron Dorfman, Ed-win
C. Harbuck, J. S. Goff,
Rabbi David Lefkowitz, Jerry
LeVan, Dr. Lee Morgan, Miss
Dorothy Risinger, and Mrs.
Virginia Shehee.
THE COMMUNITY Services
Award will be presented at
the meeting. For the last four
years the Council has present-ed
a plaque to a full time
employe of a health, welfare
or recreation agency. The
purpose of the award is to
give due recognition to the
many agency employes who
have done so much for the
community but are rarely
recognized for their contribu-tions.
THE FIRST AWARD was
presented to Miss Mildred
Wells, director, Caddo Parish
Department of Public Wel-fare.
The next award was
presented to Al Mazur, chief
probation officer of the Caddo
Parish Juvenile Court. The
following year M. E. Mischler,
YMCA executive secretary,
was recognized and last year
the C o m m u n i t y Services
Award was presented to J. S.
Goff, retired manager of the
Shreveport Social Security Of-fice.

Judge Taylor said the public
is cordially invited to attend
the annual meeting honoring
Dr. Hull. The cost of the
luncheon is $3.50. Reserva-tions
may be m a i l e d to

Box 141, Shreveport, La.
Dr. Edgar Hull, dean of the
LSU School of Medicine in
Shreveport, will be honored
this week by both the Commu-nity
Coucil and the North
Shreveport-Lions Club.
Dr. Hull will receive the
honors from the Community
Council at The group's annual
meeting at noon Tuesday at
the Convention Center and at
the North Shreveport Lions
€lub meeting at noon Thurs-day.
He will also address the
latter group.
GOV. JOHN J. Mc-
KENITHEN will be among
local and state officials at-tending
the Community Coun-cil
meeting to honor Dr. Hull
for his many contributions to
the community, according to
Judge G o r m a n E. Taylor
Council president.
"I am. honored to be asked
to participate in the program
h o n o r i n g Dr. Hull," Gov.
M c K e i t h e n said. "As you
know, I am very fond of Dr.
Hull and regard him as an
outstanding representative of
the medical profession."
