Dr. G. Gary Brooks
Med School
Director
Appointed
Dr. G. Gary Brooks, 36, has been named
medical director at Confederate
Memorial Medical Center, it was announ-ced
Wednesday by Robert C. Hall,
hospital director, and Dr. Ike Muslow,
dean of the LSU School of Medicine at
Shreveport.
The announcement came after approval
by Dr. William H. Stewart, commissioner
of the Louisiana Health and Human
Resources Administration, and Wayne
Heap, Division of Hospitals director.
Dr. Brooks had served as acting
medical director since April 5, 1975. He
was appointed acting director after Dr.
Muslow, previously medical director, was
named dean at the medical school.
As medical director, Dr. Brooks will
serve as liaison between the medical
school and the hospital and will assume
administrative duties at the hospital
during any absence of Hall.
Dr. Brooks is a native of Bernice and
received his medical degree from LSU in
New Orelans. He served his rotating inter-nship
at Confederate and completed his
residency at the hospital in 1971. After
completing his residency, he joined the
medical school faculty in the department
of obstetrics and gynecology.
