Dr. G. G. Rudolph, assistant
dean for basic sciences and
head of the Department of
Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology at Louisiana State Uni-v
e r s i t y Medical School at
Shreveport, will head the sev-en-
man Search Committee look-ing
for a new dean for the local
school.
Dr. William Stewart of New
Orleans, chancellor of the LSU
Medical Center, made the an-nouncement
yesterday.
O t h e r committee members
are Dr. Clarence H. Webb,
clinical professor of pediatrics;
Dr. Joe E. Holoubek, clinical
associate professor of medicine;
Dr. Adrian F. Reed, head of the
Department of Anatomy; Dr.
Helmut M. Redetzki, head of the
Department of Pharmacology;
Dr. Marion D. Hargrove Jr.,
Head of the Department of
Medicine and assistant dean for
clinical sciences, and Frank T.
Kurzweg, head of the Depart-ment
of Surgery, all at the
LSU-Shreveport Medical School.
Hull "announced his retirement
earlier this summer, effective
July 1, 1973. a month after the
first class at the medical school
graduates.
The search committee is an
"open end committee" accord-ing
to Stewart, meaning that it
can report any time in the fu-ture
when it decides on a can-didate
for the position.
The committee will submit its
report, to Stewart, who will give
it to the president of LSU, who
in turn will report to the LSU
B o a r d of Supervisors. The
Board of Supervisors will ulti-mately
approve and hire the
person for the job.
Anyone can submit an appli-cation
for the deanship and all
applications will be considered,
Stewart said.
