Glaucoma to be discussed
"Glaucoma Update" is the topic of
essions scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday
|t Firenze Restaurant and at 8 a.m.
riday at Schumpert Medical Center.
Sponsors are Schumpert's depart-ment
of medical education and LSU
jledical Center's department of
phthalmology.
Guest speaker is Dr. Harry A.
|uigley, associate professor of
phthalmology at Johns Hopkins School
' Medicine and member of the staff at
/ilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, Md.
Quigley will address the evening
session. His topic will be "Ocular
Hypertension vs. Glaucoma: Challenge
of When to Treat."
Topics for the morning session are
"Practical Applications of Optic Disc
Structure to Diagnosis and Manage-ment
of Glaucoma," "Management of
Recurrent Hyphema" and "New Ap-plications
of Laser Therapy in
Glaucoma."
On the faculty are Dr. James P.
Ganley, chairman of ophthalmology at
LSUMC, and Dr. Rozelle Hahn, director
of medical education at Schumpert.
