Dr. Kelley
To Head
Committee
Dr. Peyton Kelley has been named
chairman of the Citizens Advisory
Committee to the Louisiana State
University Medical School — Shreve-port's
Birth Defects Center.
Dr. Kelley is clinical assistant
professor of pediatrics at the school.
Other members of the committte are
Ray A. Barlow, attorney, Sim Barnwell,
president of Barnwell Drilling Co.;
Richard Davis, manager of the Credit
Bureau of Greater Shreveport; Mrs.
Patricia Ewing de Berardinis, The
Shreveport Times; Mrs. H. F. Falbaum,
president of the Junior League of
Shreveport; Winston B. Linam, presi-dent
of KSLA-TV; Dr. Donald G. Mack,
clinical assistant professor of pediatrics
at the School of Medicine; P. J. Mills,
state representative, and Mrs. Albert
Sklar, Sklar Oil Co.
The committee is responsible for
organization of fund-raising and public
relations for the Birth Defects Center.
The goal for the center is $44,650,said
Dr. Kelley. Contributions have come
from various sources, including the
March of Dimes, Shreveport Horse
Show, Junior League and Shreveport
Jaycees.
Dr. Richard Juberg, a geneticist and
formerly associate professor of medical
genetics and pediatrics and in the
Crippled Children's Division or the
University of Oregon, heads the center.
The center first home will be an
office being renovated at the LSU-owned
Linwood Apartment complex.
