June D. Freeman Elaine T. King
Med School names two
to administrative posts
Elaine T. King and June D. Free-man
have been appointed to admin-istrative
positions at the LSU School
of Medicine in Shreveport by Dr. Ike
Muslow, dean.
Mrs. King will serve as director of
information and Mrs. Freeman as
director of grants and contracts in
the absence of R. Mac Griffith, direc-tor
of information and grants and
contracts. Griffith is at the National
Institutes of Health in Bethesda,
Md., on a one-year leave from the
medical center.
A native of Shreveport, Mrs. King
joined the LSU Medical Center staff
in 1978 as an assistant in the office of
information and grants. Her pre-vious
experience was in the news
field as a reporter for The Times in
Shreveport and the Daily Oklahoman
and Oklahoma Journal in Oklahoma
City.
She will be responsible to the dean
for all public information concerning
the medical school.
Mrs. Freeman, a native of
Palestine, Texas, has been on the
staff since 1973. She will be respon-sible
for grants and contracts admin-istration,
which includes reviewing,
coordinating, processing and main-taining
records.
