Dallas Surgeon to Visit Here
Dr. Ronald C. Jones, a
Dallas surgeon, will be visit-ing
professor of surgery
Nov. 4 for the Louisiana
State University School of
Medicine in Shreveport af-filiated
hospitals.
He will lecture at 4 p.m.
in the Confederate
Memorial Medical Center
auditorium on "Surgical In-fections;
Emphasis on
Anaerobic Infections Relat-ed
to Surgery."
The lecture is open to
members of the medical
profession, said Dr. Frank
T. Kurzweg, professor and
head of the department of
surgery at the Shreveport
medical school, in announc-ing
the visiting pro-fessorship.
Dr. Jones is professor and
acting chairman of the de-partment
of surgery of the
University of Texas Health
Science Center at Dallas.
He is a native of Har-rison,
Ark., and obtained his
premedical degree from the
University of Arkansas and

Dr. Ronald C. Jones
his M. D. degree in 1957
from Univeristy of Ten-nessee
School of Medicine.
Dr. Jones served his in-ternship
at Los Angeles
County General Hospital,
his residency in general
practice at the University of
Oklahoma, Oklahoma City,
and his general surgery re-sidency
at Parkland
[Memorial Hospital in
'Dallas, 1960-64.
He has held his current
posts with the University of
Texas Dallas medical facili-ty
since January 1974 and
joined the staff there in 1964
as an instructor in the d°-
partment of surgery.
Dr. Jones is chief of the
surgery staff at Parkland,
chief of surgery staff at
Children's Medical Center.
Dallas, and is on the staff at
Presbyterian HosDital.
Dallas.
In addition, he is consul-tant
to six Dallas ^t.
Worth hospitals.
He received his board
certification from the
American Board of Surgery
in February 1965.
Dr. Jones has been active
in emergency medical
services committees and in
March 1973, received re-cognition
from the Dallas
Hospital Council for his
leadership in establishing a
new city - wide ambulance
service.
