Dr. Dilworth to Lead Meeting
A continuing education
program in obstetrics and
gynecology will be held
beginning at 9 a.m.
Wednesday at Confederate
Memorial Medical Center
auditorium.
Guest speakers will be Dr.
David L. Barclay, professor
and chairman of the
department of obstetrics and
gynecology at the University
of Arkansas, and Dr. Gary P.
Wood, an assistant professor
in the department at
University of Arkansas.
Moderator for the program
will be Dr. E. E. Dilworth,
professor of obstetrics and
gynecology and acting head of
the department of obstetrics
and gynecology at Louisiana
State University School of
Medicine in Shreveport.
Topics slated for discussion
include "Urinary Estrogens in
Pregnancy," "Diseases of the
Vulva, Benign and
Malignant," "The Place of
Cesarean Hysterectomy in
Current Obstetrical Practice"
and "Evaluation of the
Hirsute Female."
Dr. Barclay, native of
Washington, obtained his M.
D. degree from the University
of Washington School of
Medicine and served his
Dr. D. L. Barclay
internship at Baltimore, Md.,
City Hospital.
His residency in obstetrics
and gynecology was served at
the Tulane division, Charity
Hospital in New Orleans and
he was associated in teaching
c a p a c i t i e s at Tulane
University School of Medicine
from 1961 to Dec. 31,1969.
Dr. Wood earned his MD.
degree from the University of
Arkansas School of Medicine
and served his internship at
Menorah Medical Center,
Kansas City, Mo.
Dr. Gary P. Wood
Dr. Wood served
residencies at Jewish
Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., and
University Medical Center,
Jackson, Miss.
From 1972-1973 he trained
under a postdoctoral
fellowship in reproductive
endocrinology at the
University of Pennsylvania,
Philadelphia. He was a
faculty member at the
University of Mississippi
School of Medicine in Jackson
1971-74.
