Dr. Stephen Glasser, new
assistant professor of medicine
at the Louisiana State Universi-ty
School of Medicine at Shreve-port,
has been elected a Fellow
of the American College of
Cardiology, according to Dr. Joe
E. Holoubek, governor of the
college for Louisiana.
Fellowship is a recognition of
achievement in cardiology by
the physician's specialized
training, research work, contri-butions
to the scientific litera-ture
and by his maturity as a
cardiologist.
Glasser came to Shreveport
from the William Beaumont
General Hospital, El Paso,
Tex., where he was director of
the Coronary Care Unit, and
assistant chief of the Cardiology
Service.
He is a graduate of the
University of Miami Medical
School. He took an internship at
Letterman General Hospital,
Dr. Stephen Glasser
San Francisco. Calif., and resi-dency
in internal medicine at
Tripler General Hospital, Hono-lulu,
Hawaii, and in cardiovas-cular
disease at Walter Reed
General Hospital.
He was a major in the U.S.
Army.
He has presented papers at
numerous meetings and had 14
papers published in professional
journals.
