Dr. Edgar Hull, dean of the
Louisiana State University
Medical School-Shreveport,
has announced the appoint-ment
of Dr. Joseph E. Loew-enstein
as assistant professor
of internal medicine and chief
of the section of endocrinology
Dr. Loewenstein, formerly
an instructor in the Depart-ment
of Internal Medicine at
Washington University School
of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo., is
a native of Port Arthur, Tex.,
and holds a B.A. degree from
the University of Texas and a
medical degree from Wash-ington
University. He in-terned
and took his residency
in i n t e r n a l medicine at
Barnes Hospital, St. Louis,
and his fellowship in endocri-nology
and metabolism at
Washington University School
of Medicine.
He has served as research
associate and staff member
of the National Cancer Insti-tute,
National Institutes of
Health, Bethesda, Md.
