To Speak at
Meet Here
A Postgraduate Day will be
presented by the Department of
State University School of Medi-cine
in Shreveport Wednesday
and Thursday at Confederate
Memorial Medical Center.
Speaker for program will be
Dr. Peter Wettstein, assistant
professor to Dr. Maurice Muell-er
in Inselspital, Bern, Switzer-land.
Wettstein has been associated
wifih Mueller for eight years, as
part of general surgery and
traumatology training at Kan-tospital,
St. Glaen. Switzerland.
Dr. Glenn Scott, chief resident
in the Orthopedic Department,
Tulane School of Medicine, will
introduce Wettstein.
Dr. Carl G. Goodman, acting
head of the Department of
Orthopedics, LSU School of Med-icine
in Shreveport, will be in
charge of the program.
The program will start at 9
a.m. Wednesday and be over at
5 p.m. It wll be held Thursday
from 8 a.m. to noon.
Topics Wednesday will be
"Technique of Intertrochanteric
Osteotomies and the Technical
Mistakes and Results"; "Treat-ment
of steomyelitis and Ostei-tis";
"Trauma as an Indication
for Total Hip Replacement";
"Technique and Results of Ace-tabular
Roof Plasty," and "Pit-falls
in Osteosynthesis of Frac-ture
of the Proximal Femur."
Thursday, Wettstein will work
with Confederate physicians and
residents.
