$325,443 Grant
A $325,443 HEW grant has
been awarded to Louisiana
State University School of
Medicine, according to an
announcement today.
The grant is one of more
than $14 million awarded in
fiscal 1973 by the Department
of Health, E d u c a t i o n and
Welfare to 31 health profes-sions
schools in Arkansas,
Louisiana, New Mexico and
Texas.
Region VI Regional Health
Director William A. Cherry
said the capitation grants are
allocated on a formula basis
to provide support for educa-tional
programs and to in-crease
e n r o l l m e n t s . The
grants are authorized by the
Comprehensive Health Man-power
Training Act of 1971
and awarded by the Bureau of
Health Resources Develop-ment
of the new Health
Resources Administration
HEW.
