New Dean
Time is drawing near for
selection of a new dean for
Louisiana State University Med-ical
School at Shreveport to
replace Dr. Edgar Hull, who
has resigned effective July 1,
1973.
Dr. William Stewart, chancel-lor
of the LSU Medical Center,
said yesterday that he has
asked the local search com-mittee
to have a recommend-ation
ready "around January
or pretty close to that to select
the dean."
"I told them that was my
timetable," Stewart said in a
telephone interview. "They may
slip a month or two, but we
need three or four months for
the new dean to work with Dr.
Hull."
Dr. .G. G. Rudolph, chairman
of the search committee, said
that his group has been studying
many nominees.
"Now we are starting to invite
p e o p 1 e here — for us to
interview them and them to
interview us," Rudolph said.
