Honored By
Visiting Staff
Dr. Edgar Galloway, recent-ly
retired after serving 22
y e a r s as administrator of
Confederate Memorial Medi-cal
Center, was honored Tues-day
night by members of the
visiting medical staff at the
center.
The top honor came in
re-naming of the Confederate
Memorial M e d i c a l Alumni
Award, a $200 cash award
given annually to a resident
physician, to the Dr- Edgar
Galloway Confederate Alumni
Award.
Dr. G a l l o w a y was also
made an honorary member of
the visiting staff and received
a plaque for his "outstanding
contributions to improved pa
tient care and constant inter-est
in the medical education
of residents and interns . . .
motivated by y o u r unsur-passed
honesty and integrity,
loyalty and devotion to your
fellow man and to this medi-cal
center"
A number of medical digni-taries
attended the program
presented by Robert C. Hall,
acting director of the center,
and Dr. Rod Yeager, medical
director.
Hall told the group the new
o u t p a t i e n t clinic will be
opened about Feb. 1 and the
medical, surgical intensive
care units and the cobalt units
should be ready by July l- He
also reported a search is
being made for both a chief of
orthopedics and an anesthe-siologist
for Confederate.
He said the budget request
to legislature this year will be
$15,750,000, an increase of 30
per cent over the present
budget.
