Gets Grant
A Shreveport psychiatrist,
Or. Douglas W. Greve, is one
of 25 physicians throughout
the United States selected to
receive a fellowship grant
from the National Institute of
Mental Health for the study of
human sexuality.
Dr.. Greve, an a s s i s t a n t
professor psychiatry at LSU
Medical School in Shreveport,
said he will use the grant to
attend a siminar on human
sexuality to be held at the
Kinsey Institute in Indiana
July 8-19.
The seminar, according to
Dr. Greve, is aimed primarily
t o w a r d psychiatrists who
each courses in human sexu-ality
to medical students and
community physicians. The
Kinsey seminar is to cover all
aspects of human sexuality,
ranging from sexual problems
to the study of anthropology,
rninism, pornography and
legalities.
Dr. Greve, who has taught a
course on human sexuality at
the Shreveport medical school
for the past three years, and
his wife, who works with her
husband in group theraphy,
have just returned from the
Western Institute in Watson-ville,
Calif., where they spent
a month studying the various
techniques used in Gestalt
therapy — a form of transac-tional
analysis theraphy which
deals with how people relate
to other people.
