At Confederate Memorial
Renowned Cardiology
Authorities to Speak
Two world renowned authori-ties
on cardiology and electrocar-diography
will lecture at the
Internal Medicine Postgraduate
Seminar sponsored by the Loui-siana
State University School of
Medicine and; Confederate Memo-rial
Medical Center Thursday at
Confederate.
Addressing the physicians will
be Dr. Lawrence E. Lamb,
professor of medicine at Baylor
University College of Medicine,
and director of the Cardiovascu-
1ar Performance Laboratory,
Texas Medical Center, Houston,
Tex., and Dr. Henry J . L.
Marriott, director of the Rogers
Heart Foundation, St. Peters-burg,
Fla.
Dr. Lamb was professor of
medicine at the School of Avia-tion
Medicine, Brooks Air Force
Base from 1956-1966. He is a
graduate of the Graduate Univer-sity
of the Kansas Medical
School.
He will speak at 9 a.m. on
"The Normal E l e c t r o c a r -
diogram," and at 1:30 p.m. on
"The Exercise Cardiogram."
Speaking, at 10:15 p.m. on
"Diagnostic Dilemmas in Ar-rhythmias,"
and at 2:30 p.m. on
"Bedside Recognition of Arrhyth-mias,"
will be Dr. Marriott, a
graduate of Oxford University
and St. Mary's Hospital, London.
He received training in internal
medicine and cardiology in Eng-land,
Bermuda and the Johns
Hopkins University and Hospital.
He served as associate professor
of medicine at the University of
Maryland School of Medicine
DR. HENRY J. L. MARRIOTT
Both men are authors of text
books and scientific papers.
Moderating at the morning
session will be Dr. Herbert D.
Tucker, chief of the Department
of Internal Medicine at the
Confederate S t a t e University
Medical Center, S h r e v e p o r t
School of Medicine, and profes-sor
of medicine at the .Louisiana
State University Medical Center,
New Orleans, will preside at the
1:30 p.m. meeting.
Cases will be presented for
discussion to Dr. Lamb, Dr.
Marriott and Dr. Tucker at 11:15
p.m., and to Dr. Lamb, Dr.
Marriott and Dr. Hull at 3:45
p.m.
