Doctors to Attend
Annual Congress
Three local doctors will
represent the Shreveport area
at the annual Congress on
Medical Education Sunday and
Monday and later next week
two officials of the Louisiana
State University Medical
School at Shreveport will parti-cipate
in the American College
of Cardiology meeting.
Dr. Edgar Hull, dean of the
LSU Medical School at Shreve-port,
and Dr. George Meneely,
associate dean of the school,
will attend both meetings. Dr.
Charles Black, Shreveport sur-geon,
and member of the board
of directors of the Confederate
Memorial Hospital, will also
attend the earlier meeting at
the Palmer House in Chicago,
Ill.
Dr. William H. Stewart,
surgeon general of the U.S.
Public Health Service, will
discuss "Relation of Medical
Schools to the Surrounding
Community" at the Chicago
meeting. Dr. Stewart is a
graduate of the LSU Medical
School at New Orleans and
took his residency at the
Charity Hospital in New Or-leans.
The American College of
Cardiology meeting will be in
Washington, D.C., Feb. 15-19.
Addressing the doctors at the
Feb. 18 convocation will be
Vice President Hubert Hum-phrey.
President Lyndon B. Johnson
will receive the group's Distin-guished
Service Award.
