Sex education seminar
slated for Med Center
A Denver physician will conduct a
two-day seminar on medical sex
education Tuesday and Wednesday at
LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
Dr. William B. Wilson Jr. will be
the Visiting Lecturer in the depart-ment
of obstetrics and gynecology.
his seminar designed for medical pro-fessionals.
Registration is required,
said the LSUMC office of information.
Wilson is assistant professor in ob-stetrics
and gynecology at the Un-iversity
of Colorado Medical School
and director of family planning and
obstretics and gynecology and
gynecological ambulatory care
services at Denver General Hospital.
He is a diplomate of the American
Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
and the American Association of Sex
Educators, Counselors and
Therapists. He served a fellowship in
family planning and sex education at
University of Washington Medical
School, Seattle, and has done ex-tensive
postgraduate study in sexual
dysfunction and reproductive biology
Founders Day
The LSU School of Medicine in
Shreveport will have its first Foun-ders
Day observance on Oct. 27, with
Sen. J. Bennett Johnston Jr., D-La., as
the principal speaker.
Sen. Johnston, then a state
representative, introduced the bill
authorizing establishment of the
medical school in Shreveport in the
1965 session of the Louisiana
Legislature.
He will speak at 10 a.m. at a
ceremony in the courtyard at the
main entrance of the medical school,
1501 Kings Highway.
Founders Day will mark the
seventh anniversary of the dedication
of the $30.8 million medical school
complex on Oct. 28, 1975.
