For Medical
Event Listed
Four doctors from different
parts of the United States will
speak at the Postgraduate Day
sponsored by the Department of
Radiology of the Louisiana State
University School of Medicine in
Shreveport today and tomorrow,
according to Dr. Erich K.
Lang, head of the department.
The guest speakers are Dr.
Robert N. Cooley, professor and
chairman of the Department of
Radiology at the University of
Texas Medical Branch, Galves-ton,
Tex.; Dr. William B.
Seaman, professor and chair-man
of the D e p a r t m e n t of
Radiology, College of Physi-cians
and Surgeons of Columbia
University, and director of the
Department of Radiology Co-
1 u m b i a Presbyterian Medical
Center, New York; Dr. E. G.
Theros, chief and registrar,
registry of Radiology Pathology,
American Registry of Patholo-gy,
Armed Forces Institute of
Pathology, Washington, D .C.,
and Dr. Robert E. Wise, chair-man
of the D e p a r t m e n t of
Radiology, New England Bap-tist
Hospital, and chairman of
the Department of diagnostic
Radiology, Lahey Clinic Foun-dation,
Boston,' Mass.
Cooley will speak this morn-ing
on "The Conventional
Roentgenorgram in the Detect-ion
of 'Asymptomatic' Ca-ncer
in H o s p i t a l and Clinic
Populations," and this afternoon
on "Cancer of the Colon and
Barium Enema Examination: A
13-year Experience. .
Seaman's topic this morning
will be "Dynamic Considera-tions
in Diseases of the Gastric
Antrum. He will discuss "Unu-sual
Benign Conditions of the
Stomach" this afternoon and
tomorrow. "Functional Diseases
of the Pharynx," and "The
Significance of Intramural Gas
in the Gastrointestinal Tract.
Wise will speak at 1:30 p.m.
on "Intrahepatic Ducts" and
tomorrow on "Intravenous Cho-langiography."
Theros will discuss "Aveolar
Versus Interstitial Disease of
the Lung: A Radiologic-Patholo-gic
Correlative Study" at tomor-row's
afternoon session, and "A
Closer Look at Osteoporosis."
and "Solitary Bone Lesions."
The program is acceptable for
nine prescribed hours by the
American Academy of Family
Physicians.
The sessions today will be
held in the Confederate Nursing
School auditorium, and tomor-row
in the Confederate audito-rium.
