Ministers,'
Physicians'
Day Stated
The seventh annual Minis-ters'
and Physicians' Day is
scheduled here next Saturday,
beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the
Fountainbleau Room at
Schumpert Hospital.
The day-long program, open
to all ministers, physicians,
psychologists and social serv-ice
workers, will center
around the topic, "Marriage
Counseling and Marriage Pre-paration."
THE. ANNUAL observance
is sponsored jointly by the
Committee of Medicine and
Religion of the Shreveport
Medical Society, the Hospital
Workshop Committee of the
Shreveport-Bossier Ministerial
Assn., the Louisiana State
University School of Medicine
at Shreveport, and the Council
of Medicine and Religion.
Guest speakers for the pro-gram
will be John C. Ques-nell,
a practicing marriage
counsellor from Minneapolis,
Minn., and Rev. Paul Marx,
professor of sociology and
teacher of marriage counsel-ing
at St. John's Universitv.
The program will include
direct interviews discussion of
the tpchinques involved and
the pitfalls in marriage coun-seling.
QUESNELL, A former Air
Force psychiatric social work-er,
probation officer and di-rector
of the Family Service
Department in Minneapolis, is
an instructor at St. Paul
Seminary and coordinator of
family education in the Minne-apolis
Catholic Welfare Serv-ices.
He has written several
articles on marriage counsel-ing
and family living and has
conducted numerous family
life workshops throughout the
nation.
Rev. Marx, also a noted
author and lecturer in the
field, will speak as a clergy-man,
teacher, marriage coun-selor
and sociologist.
