Ronald R, Sommer, associate
librarian, Louisiana State Uni-versity,
School of Medicine in
Shreveport, was installed as
president of the Special Librar-ies
Association Louisiana Chap-ter
at the annual business
meeting- held at the Bellmont
Motor Hotel at Natchez, Miss..
Saturday.
Other new officers are Mrs.
Jacklyn H. Ducote, Public Af-fairs
Research Council of Loui-siana,
Inc.; Mrs. Harriet H.
Callahan, Louisiana State Li-brary;
Airs. Lou Thomas, Baton
Rouge M o r n i n g and Sunday
A d v o c a t e and States-Times.
Mrs. Ducote is vice president
and p r e s i d e n t elect of the
chapter. Mrs. Callahan will
serve as secretary-treasurer
and Mrs. Thomas will serve as
member-at-large. Officers are
elected for a one-year term.
Sommer is a native of Ohio
and was educated in Florida. He
came to Louisiana three years
ago from the University of
Florida where he worked for the
Co11ege of Engineering. He
holds two degrees from Florida
State University.
