Dr. Edward R. Eichner
Med School
Names Three
To Its Staff
Three,'new staff m e m b e r s
have been named to the Louisia-na
State University Medical
School at Shreveport, according
to Dean Edgar Hull.
. The men are R. W. Savell,
head of buildings and grounds,
who will make $16,550 a year;
Dr. Harold D. Battarbee, in-structor
in the department of
physiology and biophysics, who
will receive $12,600 a year, and
Dr. Edward R. Eichner, assist-ant
professor of medicine, who
will receive $22,000 a year.
Savell is a native of Horn-beck,
and holds a B:S. degree in
mechanical engineering f r o m
Louisiana State University. He
also attended Panola Junior
College, Carthage, Tex. He is
former plant industrial engineer
at Reynolds Metals Co., Trout-dale,
Oregon, plant.
He is married to the former
Lecta DeLong of Arkadelphia,
Ark., and they have six child-ren.
Dr. Battarbee received a B.S.
degree from the University of
Houston and a Ph.D. in Decem-ber
from Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston with a
major in physiology and a
minor in biochemistry.
His primary research is in the
field of endocrinology.
Dr. Battarbee and his wife,
the former Jane Robberson, are
both from Houston.
A g r a d u a t e of the Johns
Hopkins University School of
Medicine and Baylor University
Dr. Eichner comes to LSU from
the University of Washington
