MEDICAL EVENT
TO BEGIN FRIDAY
Annual Meeting Will Be
Held in Shreveport
The annual meeting of the
Louisiana Tuberculosis and Re-spiratory
Disease Association,
the Louisiana Thoracic Society
(a medical section of the asso-ciation),
and the Louisiana
Chapter of the American Col-lege
of Chest Physicians will be
held Friday and Saturday at
the Captain S h r e v ' e Hotel in
Shreveport.
The general public health seg-ments
of the LTRDA meeting
will begin with the showing of
two films on air pollution at 10
a. m. Friday. The keynote ses-sion
will start at 1:30 p. m.
Among speakers from New
Orleans on a panel Friday are
Dr. B. Shannon Gallaher, board
member, Tuberculosis Associa-tion
of Greater New Orleans,
and Mrs. Joyce Dennery, board
member, LTRDA. Dr. Sydney
Jacobs, president of the Nation-al
Tuberculosis Association,
New Orleans, will speak on
"The Involvement of Physicians
is Essential for the Eradication
of Tuberculosis."
Beginning at 9 a. m. Saturday
a Symposium of Reports on
Current Louisiana Tuberculosis
Hospitals will be presented. Re-

charge, U. S. Public Health
Service Hospital, New Orleans.
The final session of the an:
nual meeting will feature na-tional
and state speakers on ajr
pollution control. The Saturday
noon luncheon session will have
two principal speakers, includ-ing
John E. Trygg, technical
secretary, Louisiana Air Con-

College of Chest of Physi-cians.
The opening medical ses-sion
will begin at 1:30 p. m.
Friday.

case, conference Friday
will be Dr. Lawrence Strug of
New Orleans. "Clinical Applica-tions
of Fluorodensimetry" will
be discussed at a Saturday
scientific session starting at 9
a. m. by Dr. Ronald B. George,

Hospital, New Orleans.
