Scientific Exhibit
Three members of the department of
anesthesiology, LSUMC School of Medicine
in Shreveport, will present a scientific
exhibit at the International Anestheia Re-search
Society Congress in New Orleans
March 12-17.
Joe N. Ross, registered respiratory
therapist instructor, Norman H. Blass,
M.D., professor and chairman; and Johnnie
M. Adams, associate in anesthesia tech-nology,
will present "Clinical Utility of
Commputerized Respiratory Monitoring
During General Anesthesia."
G.I. Series
Dr. Donald L. Hall, ophthalmologist, will
be the speaker for Willis-Knighton Medical
Center's March general information (G.I.)
series today, 7:30-8:30 p.m., in the Health
System Center behind the hospital. His
topic will be lasers in eye surgery, retinas
and cataracts.
The series is offered free of charge and no
reservations or pre-registration are re-quired.
Strokers Club
Strokers Club will meet Wednesday, 7
p.m., at Doctors' Hospital.
Visiting Lecturer
Dr. Kermit E. Krantz of Kansas City,
Kan., will be the visiting lecturer for the de-partment
of obstretics and gynecology,
LSUMC School of Medicine in Shreveport
on March 23. He will conduct a 7:30 a.m.
conference on "Stress Incontinence" and
will lecture at 8 p.m. on "Sex, Science and
Religion." His other activities will include
case presentations and discussions. Dead-line
for reservations for the program is
March 16.
Dr. Krantz is professor and chairman of
the department of obstetrics and
gynecology, professor of anatomy, lecturer
in the history of medicine and an associate
to the executive vice chancellor for facili-ties
development at the University of Kan-sas,
College of Health Sciences and Hospi-tals,
Kansas City, Kan. ..
Family Workshop
The first in a series of four family work-shops,
"Alcohol and Drug Abuse," will be
presented Friday at the Progressive Chriss-tian
Baptist Church, 1808 Anna St. from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Among the guest speakers
will be Charles Rollins, executive director
of Caddo/Bossier Council on Alcoholism.
The workshops are being sponsored by
People United for Better Representation.
Subsequent workshops will be held March
18, "Family Violence and a Solution,"
March 25, "Incest in the Family and a Solu-tion,"
and April 1, "Social Family —
Financial Management." For additional in-formation

Medic Alert Week
Dr. Joyce Brothers, noted psychologist
and author, will lead volunteers in the na-tional
observation of Medic Alert Week
April 3-9.
