Week honors occupational therapists
This week is National Occupational Therapy
Week in recognition of the professionals who help
the physically and mentally disabled overcome or
reduce their handicaps.
Of 165 occupational therapists in Louisiana, re-ports
OT consulUnt Judith C. Vestal of the School of
Allied Health Professions, LSU Medical Center
School of Medicine, 30 are employed here, in LSU
Medical Center, the Caddo and Bossier parish school
systems, Northwest Louisiana Rehabilitation
Center, the Goldman School (C-BARC), Shreveport
Spinal Cord Injury Unit, Shriners Hospital for Crip-pled
Children and the VA Medical Center.
Faculty to serve
Three members of the faculty of LSU Medical
Center School of Medicine in Shreveport will serve
as examiners for the American Board of Psychiatry
and Neurology when the board's examination is
given today in New Orleans.
Dr. Larry J. Embree, chairman, and Drs. Gwen-dolyn
R. Hogan and Andrew L. Chesson, professors,
of the Department of Neurology, will assist with
examination of candidates for certification by the
board.
