Local Man Dies In LSU
Medical Center Waiting Room

A Shreveport man died
Saturday in the LSU Medical
Center waiting room in the
hospital Walk-in Clinic, while
waiting nearly one hour to
receive medical attention, ac-cording
to a man and a woman
who said they accompanied the
man to the hospital.
The Caddo Parish coroner's
office was expected to perform
an autopsy on John B. Williams,
78, of 2764 1/2 Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. Dr. (on the Cooper
Road) later this week as the
cause of death has not been
determined.
Zuline Hall, 48, of 2764 Martin
Luther King Dr. and Anthony
White, 41, of 2763 Dr. MLK Dr.
both, said they accompanied Mr.
Williams to the local hospital
approximately 12, noon, on
Saturday, Nov. 28.
" I went in and checked him
(Mr. Williams) in and told the
doctor that he was very sick and
looked dehydrated and the
doctor asked me had I signed
him in, I said 'yes.' and he told
me to go back and I had to wait
my turn," said Mrs. Hall, who
was a neighbor of Mr. Williams.
White said Mr. Williams died
sitting in the waiting room about
1 p.m.
"When they finally came to
see about him, he was dead,"
said Mrs. Hall. "And then the
doctor told me, " I 'm sorry. I
didn't know he was that sick."
A hospital spokesman con-firmed
Tuesday that Mr.
Williams died while sitting in the
patients waiting room.
