Karr Shannon Jr. Funeral For Doctor Is Monday Dr. Karr Shannon Jr., 47, former head of psychiatry at Confederate Memorial Medical Center, died Saturday at 5 a.m. at Schumpert Medical Center after a massive cerebral hemorrhage. Dr. Shannon, who resided at 813 River Road, suffered the hemorrhage Friday morning. . He had served as acting head of the LSU School at, Medicine in Shreveport in 1972 and as chief of psychiatry ser-vices at the Veterans Ad-ministration Hospital her* from 1959 to 1963. A vigil service will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at Osboro Funeral Home. Funeral ser-vices will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Osborn Chapel with the Rev. John R. Welsh, rector of Jesuit High School, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. A native of Melbourne, Ark., he was an associate professor of psychiatry at the Schtoi of Medicine, chairman of the board of trustees of Brentwood Hospital, executive director of t h e Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and a member of the Louisiana Commission on Alcoholism, the Louisiana Advisory Coun-cil on Mental Health, the ad-visory council of the Louisiana Areawide Health Planning Council. He received his bachelor degree from the University of Arkansas and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. Dr. Shannon's internship was at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, Wash., and his residency was at the Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock, Ark., and the Veterans Administration Hospital at North Little Rock.
