The Lousisiana House Appropriations
Committee stopped at LSU Medical
Center in Shreveport Tuesday on a tour
of state facilities.
The committee was briefed on
hospital and medical school operations
and future aims and taken on a tour of
both.
In the party with Rep. Kevin P.
Reilley of Baton Rouge, chairman, and
Rep. Mike Thompson of Lafayette, vice
chairman, were Reps. Elias "Bo" Ackal
Jr. of New Iberia, Vincent J. Bella of
Franklin, Louis Charbonnet III of New
Orleans, John H. John III of Crowley,
and Francis C. Thompson of Delhi.
In addition to the committee there
were C.B. Fortston, chief counsel; June
Pay, secretary; Ronnie Smith, fiscal
officer; Jim Johnson. House sergeant-at-
arms; and Reps. H.M. "Mutt" Fowler
of Coushatta and Clyde W. Kimball of
New Roads, of the Ways and Means
Committee.
Joining them here for the LSUMC
visit were Sen. Lawson L. Swearingin
Jr. of Monroe, and Reps. Alphonse
Jackson of Shreveport and Jamie Fair
of Lucky.
