Walk-in clinic
Hi. I am one of the residents at LSU Medical
Center and I read with interest the letter from
the lady who complained about waiting time
in a walk-in clinic. If concerned people would
like to see what kind of people we see in the
walk-in clinic and people who are seen in the
walk-in clinics they would be very surprised.
The patients today consist of a stack of people
complaining of blo'od pressure checks, high
blood pressure, low blood pressure, no blood
pressure, took the wrong pill two days ago and
feel sick today, flu and a lot of other things
that tend to bog down the system with very
minimal complaints. Sure, there is a problem
in the walk-in clinic, but it cannot be cor-rected
by being lambasted when the doctors in
the walk-in clinic are trying their best. It is a
socialized concept that we will be faced with
the rest of our life if we have another Demo-cratic
president, in my opinion, and hopefully
people that are proponents of national health
insurance would like to come to LSU and get a
first-hand look at what their health-care needs
of the future will look like. Thank you for your
time.
