Financing for the $30 million
Louisiana State University medi-cal
college in Shreveport was ap-
Droved yesterday by the state
House of Representatives by a
vote of 105 to 0.
The Shreveport branch of the
nedical school is expected to pro-vide
plenty of doctors for the
$100 million a year federal medi-care
money expected to begin
pouring into the state.

Sent on to the Senate, the bill
provides for issuance of up to j
$10 in state bonds within 10 years,,
to be matched two-to-one by fed- \
eral funds.
Specifically, it provides that up
to $5 million in bonds may be.
issued in the first five years of
the construction program and up
to another $5 million in the sec-ond
five-year period. The up to
$10 million in state money would
be matched by up to $20 million
in federal money to underwrite
a potential $30 million medical
college.
The bonds are to be paid off at
the rate of $360,000 a year over,
a 20-year period at an anticipated j
3.75 interest rate.
