Rep. Buddy Roemer of the 4th
Congressional District will be the
principal speaker at LSU Medical
Center's annual volunteers recogni-tion
banquet Oct. 14.
The banquet will be held at 6 p.m. in
the doctors' cafeteria at LSU Hospital
and Roemer will address the guests
afterward in the medical school
auditorium.
Certificates and awards will be
presented to volunteers who have
given 30 or more hours of service to
the hospital and medical school.
Adelaide Creamer, director of
volunteer services, said volunteers,
working inside and outside the
medical center, have given more than
50.000 hours in the interest of
LSUMC.
Ms. Creamer said about 250 volun-teers
serve inside the hospital and
medical school and these are
augmented by outside services of
numerous church, civic, social and
school groups. Volunteers serve in
more than 70 areas of the hospital and
medical school, she reported.
