Medical educator dies
* Dr. Adrian F. Reed, the first director of the depart-ment
of anatomy at the LSU School of Medicine, died
yesterday in Many following a sudden illness. He was
74.
Dr. Reed, a veteran teacher of more than 30 years,
joined the school as department head in 1968 before
the present school facility was built. He had been
professor emeritus for the past four years.
Before teaching in Shreveport, Dr. Reed spent 23
years m the anatomy department at Tulane. He
received the Ph.D in neuroanatomy from Cornell
Jniversity in 1933.
Dr. Reed is survived by his wife, Mary.
