Gathering to F e a t u r e
Scientific Session
A scientific session for physi-cans
will feature the Louisiana
Heart Association's 8th annual
meeting here April 22 at the
Roosevelt Hotel.
Out-of-state physician speakers
include Dr. F. Mason Sones Jr.,
department of pediatric cardi-ology
and cardiac laboratory,
Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio
discussing "Cineangiography of
Coronary Artery Disease"; Dr.
Denton A. Cooley, professor of
surgery, Baylor University Col-lege
of Medicine, Houston, Tex.,
on "Surgery of Coronary Artery
Disease"; and Dr. W. Proctor
Harvey, professor of medicine
and director, division of cardi-ology,
Georgetown University
Hospital, Washington, D. C,
talking on "The Clinical Signific-ance
of Gallop Rhythm."
A morning panel discussion
will be moderated by Dr. Har-old
M. Albert, associate profes-sor
of surgery, Louisiana State
University School of Medicine. It
will center on "Coronary Art-ery
Disease." Panelists will be
Drs. Sones, Cooley and Dr.
Charles W. Pearce, associate
professor of surgery, Tulane
University School of Medicine.
The afternoon panel discus-sion
on "Newer Findings of
Clinical Auscultation" will be
moderated by Dr. Albert L.
Hyman, associate professor,
department of surgery at Tu-lane.
Drs. W. Proctor Harvey
and Edgar Hull, professor and
head, LSU School of Medicine,
will be the panelists.
Physicians from Louisiana,
Arkansas, Texas and Mississip-pi
are invited to attend the
scientific session, according to
Dr. Sam A. Threefoot, associa-tion
pAsident and director of
the Touro Research Insititute.
Other events of the two-day
annual gathering of Louisiana
Heart members include a
meeting of the association
board of directors April 21 and
a "dutch treat" reception at
6 p. m. that evening.
On April 22, there will be a
10 a. m. conference for non-medical
volunteers, a day-long
scientific session for nurses to
be held at the Tulane Medical
School Auditorium, and the
annual meeting luncheon. Of-ficers
for 1967-68 will be
elected at the luncheon.
