Grulle, Hutchison Named to PSRC Executive Panel

Grulle, Hutchison Named
To PSRC Executive Panel
Dr. Clifford G. Grulle, dean
of the Louisiana State Univer-sity
School of Medicine in
Shreveport, and J. A. Hut-chison,
general manager of the
Sears, Roebuck & Co. in the
Greater Shreveport Area, have
been appointed to the
Executive Committee of the
Public Solicitation Review
Council, it was announced by
W. R. Bennett, PSRC
president.
Dr. Grulle, born in Chicago,
III , received his Doctor of
Medicine degree from North-western
University Medical
School in 1938 and since that
time has held many important
positions in the field of
medicine. Appointments in-clude
associate professor of
pediatrics at the University of
Texas Medical Branch, as-sistant
professor of pediatrics
at Tulane University, assistant
dean and director of graduate
medicine at Tulane; dean, Col-lege
of Medicine, University of
Cincinnatti, and dean of the
LSU Medical School in
Shreveport since 1973.
Dr. Grulle, having served in
the armed forces, has par-ticipated
in many professional
and community organizations
both locally and nationally. He
has authored many articles
and publications in the medical
field.
. A veteran of 26 years ex-perience
with Sears, Roebuck
and Co., Hutchison has been

manager of the local Sears
operation since May of 1973.
Hutchison began his Sears
career in Corsicana, Tex., in
1948. He then moved through
key merchandising posts in
Corsicana, Roswell, N.M., Cor-pus
Christi, Port Arthur and
Austin, Tex., to the company's
32-store Dallas, Tex., regional
headquarters, where he was
sales promotion manger.
His first store-management
assignment came in 1963 at
Lake Charles. In May, 1966, he
was named to manage the
Waco, Tex., store. In June of
1968, he was promoted to
manager of the store in Austin,
Tex. Three years later, he was
promoted to manager of one of
the stores in Denver, Colo.
Hutchison is a member of the
Shreveport Chamber of Com-merce
and is on the Board of
Directors of the Better
Business Bureau,- the
Executive Committee and
Board of Directors of the
Public Solicitation Review
Council and the Louisiana
Retailers Association.
Hutchison and his wife, Mar-jorie,
are members of the First
Presbyterian Church. They
have three children: Mrs. Ann
Prewett of Atlanta, Ga.; Hal,
of Houston, Tex.; and Barbara
of Fort Worth, Tex.
PSRC evaluates all public
fund campaipas in the field of
health, welfare and recreation.
Each campaign is considered
and the information is then
given to members of the
organization. The following in-formation
is required on each
application for approval of a
fund drive:
1. Is the agency chartered as
a non-profit organization in the
State of Louisiana? Is the
organization tax exempt under
Federal Internal Revenue
Code?
2. What services are being
rendered by the organization
and to whom is this service
available? In the case where
the agency is not located in the
Greater Shreveport-Bossier
City Area, in what manner are
local citizens entitled to utilize
the facility?
3. Is the agency governed by
a Board of Directors and what
authority does it have? Who
comprises the Board of Direc-tors?
