Dr. Hull to Be Honored
By Physicians College
Dr. Edgar Hull
Dr. Edgar Hull, dean of
Louisiana State University Medi-cal
Center in Shreveport, will
become a Master nf the Ameri-can
College of Physicians at
induction ceremonies in Philadel-phia,
Pa. April 13.
The master is given to a
Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons who, in the opinion
of the awards committee, has
made outstanding contributions
in either the college or the
community, according to Dr. Ed
C. Rosenow Jr., executive direc-tor.
It is being given to Dr. Hull for
"his outstanding contributions to
LSU for many years and for his
inspiration to young men.
Of the 16,000 members of the
college, 57 hold the Master's
award.
The award will be given at the
annual convocation of the Ameri-can
College of Physicians, which
was founded in 1915.
It is the top organization in the
field of internal medicine.
Dr. Hull was named dean of
j the medical school here in 1967,
I after serving as interim dean
from 196K-67. He is a native of
Pascagoula, Miss., and received
the M n. degree from Tulane
Medical vSchool in 1927.
He served his internship at
Highland Hospital, where he was
a staff physician until 1929.
He joined the LSU faculty in
1931.
