Elected ACP Master—
Hull Receives Honor
Dr. Edgar Hull, dean of the
Louisiana S t a t e University
School of Medicine, Shreveport,
has been elected to the Ameri-can
College of Physicians
(ACP) Masters, according to
an announcement by the col-lege.
He is one of 13 fellows
elevated to masters.
A NATIVE of P.ascagoula,
Miss., Dr. Hull was named
dean of the school here in 1967.
He served as interim dean
from 1966-67.
Dr. Hull received his M.D.
degree from the Tulane Uni-versity
Medical School in 1927,
serving his internship here at
Highland Hospital. He served
as staff physician here until
1929. The dean maintained a
private practice in Pleasant
Hill from 1929 until 1931, when
he joined the faculty of Loui-siana
State University. -
He served as associate dean
there from 1954 until 1966,
when he became interim dean
for the school here.
DR. HULL was certified by
the American Board of. Inter-national
Medicine in 1937 and
has served on the visiting staff
of Charity Hospital of Louisia-na
in New Orleans since 1931.
The dean is a member of
Alpha Omega Alpha, the Amer-ican
Medical Assn., a,fellow on
the American College of "Physi-cians,
a fellow of the American
College of Cardiology, the
American Heart Assn., a fellow
on the Council on Clinical
Cardiology and regional repre-sentative,
Louisiana H e a r t
Assn., Louisiana Medical Socie-ty,
the visiting staff and
director of the heart station at
Mercy Hospital and Hotel Dieu
in New Orleans, consulting
staff of the Baptist Hospital
and Touro Infirmary in New
Orleans and the Shreveport
Veterans Administration Hospi-tal.
HE IS AN honorary member
of the Shreveport Medical
Society and an honorary mem-ber
of the Willis-Knighton
Hospital professional staff. He
is also on the visiting staff of
the department of internal
medicine at Confederate' Me-morial
Medical Center.
In October, 1967, the LSU
Board of Supervisors initiated
the Edgar Hull Alumni Profes-sorship
in Medicine.
