BOARD CREATES
PROFESSORSHIP
Dr. Hull Is Honored at
School of Medicine
The first professorship to hon-or
a distinguished faculty mem-ber
of Louisiana State Univer-sity
Medical Center has been
created by the LSU Board of
Supervisors.
The professorship honors Dr.
Edgar Hull, charter member of
the 37-year-old LSU medical
faculty and dean of the new
LSU School of Medicine now un-er
development in Shreveport.
The board's action Thursday
created the "Edgar Hull Alurri-
DR. EDGAR HULL
ni Professorship in Medicine"
at the LSU School of Medicine
here, and the person named by
the board to fill the position
formerly held by Dr. Hull will
be first recipient. Dr. Hull was
professor and head of the de-partment
of medicine.
The professorship will be sup-ported
in part by annual pro-ceeds
of the LSU Medical Chal-lenge
Fund, a voluntary pro-gram
of support by the New
Orleans school's more than
3,000 physician graduates
throughout the world. The fund|
was begun in 1966.
