Med School Asks Research Grant
A $180,000 U.S. Naval Re-search
grant fiar b a l l i s t i c
research has been applied for
by the Radiology Department,
of Louisiana Stete University
Medical School at Shrev*port.
The research will be an
effort to find a more success-ful
way of treating serious
kidney injury and thus cutting
costly prolonged hospitaliza-tion.
Head of the Department of
school and C o n f e d e r a t e -
Memorial Hospital, Dr. Er-ich
Lang said he expected the
grant to be substantially less
than the figure applied for. He
did say, however, thft the
Radiology at the Medical
department would settle for
whatever segment of the
research that was granted.
LSU is interested in such
research, according to Lang,
because of the high rate of
traumatic kidney injury which
comes into Confederate Me-morial.
