Kick-Off Set
For Saturday
The 1971 Shreveport Charity
Horse Show kickoff party is
scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday
in the Convention Hall.
The purpose of the meeting
will be to acquaint persons
with the need for the Birth
Defects Center at the LSU
Medical School in Shreveport,
; and to discuss the role of the
charity horse show in helping
the center operate.
The Birth Defects Center is
the only facility for birth
defects in Louisiana outside
of the LSU Medical School in
New Orleans. Diagnosis and
genetic counseling for pa-tients
in North Louisiana and
the Ark-La-Tex will be pro-vided
by the Shreveport facil-ity
regardless of ability to
pay.
The Shreveport C h a r i t y
Horse Show Association has
selected the center as the
permanent beneficiary of the
show proceeds. This year's
equestrain competition will be
held May 12-14 in the Hirsch
Memorial Coliseum at the
State Fairgrounds.
