Apparent low bidder for
renovation and remodeling of
three L i n w o o d Apartments
units for use as the Northwest
Louisiana Rehabilitation Cen-ter
is Fairfield Construction,
Inc., according to Robert R.
Graves, business manager for
Louisiana S t a t e University
Medical School in Shreveport.
F a i r c h i 1 d Inc.'s bid of
$351,674 was the lowest of
eight companies submitting
quotations on the project.
Graves said the bids will be
taken under advisement iwth
construction beginning within
three weeks, and completion
within nine months.
Two four-unit buildings and
a three-unit facility located on
the southwest corner of the
inwood apartments property,
will be joined to make up the
center. Total square footage
for the c e n t e r is 23,012,
according to Dr. George R.
Meneely, associate dean of the
school.
Federal and state funds will
finance the project which will
be operated jointly by the
State Department of Educa-tion
Vocational Rehabilitation
Agency and the LSU School of
Medicine in Shreveport.
The center will serve a
20-parish area and will pro-vide
services to about 21.000
disabled individuals known to
be in this area of the state.
