Medical School at Shreveport,
will attend a conference on
nedical education at Fort Lau-erdale,
Fla., today through
Wednesday.
The conference which has the
theme "Liberal Arts Education
nd A d m i s s i o n to Medical
chools" is being sponsored by
he Macy Foundation, and is by
nvitation only for some 50
persons, including medical school
eans, college presidents and
employes of the U.S. Department
of Health, Education and Wel-are.
Discussions at the conference
will include ways of creating
more effective liaison between
medical schools and undergradu-te
schools which are preparing
medical students; better ways of
p r e p a r i n g people, especially
Negroes, for a better medical
education, and finding better
ways to prepare Negro appli-ants
for medical schools.
All Southern medical schools
and most liberal arts colleges
will be represented at the
meeting.
