Description	Text, February 7, 1855. Closing Coffee-Houses on Sunday. Ordinance introduced to close coffeehouses on the Christian Sabbath approved by the Judiciary Committee in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ordinance was introduced by a Mr. Gilmore. A reform movement cited in New York, Philadelphia and Cincinnati as well. The article mentions that most of the city indulges in drink on this day and almost half of offences against the peace in the city are committed on Sundays.
